LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Funding sources for home modifications are available through local county and/or city governments. Local governments may receive funding from federal and state programs that are designated to fund housing related concerns. HAT works closely with these programs specifically in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties:

The above funding sources have eligibility guidelines and income limit qualifications. They require homeownership and have limitations on household income and assessed home value. This funding is usually available through forgivable loans. Check with your county or city government to see if the above programs are available in your area.

DISABILITY PROGRAMS

Other funding sources come through programs already designated to help persons with disabilities. Clients of these programs may be eligible for home modifications on a case by case basis:

BANK LOANS

Additional funding options come in the form of traditional bank loans through existing home equity, or through Florida's Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST). FAAST has a special bank loan specifically for person's with disability or family member's who would be able to pay back the loan in small monthly payments.
